Our students performed very well on the ISAT tests back in March.  As a district, 86% of our students scored at the meets or exceeds category in reading, while 91% scored at the meets or exceed category in math.  Test scores are important, however, they do not provide the complete picture of a student’s education.

                As our parents have become familiar with our Response to Intervention (RtI) program in reading, and our benchmark testing in math, we are now in the beginning stages of focusing attention on student behavior.  Research shows that rewards for behavior need to begin extrinsically, and with time, and a proper educational component, motivation will become intrinsic.  All three buildings use a positive behavior support program to reinforce positive personal interactions.  The programs look different at each school, however, the goal of each builds on the other with the ultimate outcome being a student who is a self-aware, responsible citizen of our community.
