We will explore three units in Science: Earth Science, Health/Nutrition, and Systems in the Sky. 

Earth Science focuses on learning about the inner Earth, volcanoes, landforms and weathering.  Students will also learn about Rocks and Minerals.  In addition to identifying the Rock Cycle including igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks; students will recognize and classify rocks and minerals.

Health and Nutrition will include analyzing the domains of health with focus on grooming and dental hygiene.  They will also recognize food groups and analyze the importance of nutrients for body growth, development and energy.

Our "Cycles on the Earth and in Space" focuses on our solar system and the sun as a source of energy.  Rotation of the Earth on its axis, revolution, and how these occurrences relate to night and day and our seasons will also be studied.  Students will identify and explain natural cycles and patterns in the solar system and the natural cycles of the Earth's land, water and atmospheric systems.

Students use hands-on experiments to explore each of these areas.
