The Mokena SD 159 Virtual Backpack serves as a centralized, paperless communication tool for sharing information about community events, activities, and resources that may be of interest to our students and families.

This service is provided as a courtesy to our school community. All materials are reviewed and must meet the following expectations as set forth in Board Policy 8:25- Advertising and Distributing Materials in Schools Provided by Non-School Related Entities: 

• Activity sponsored by a non-profit organization or local intergovernmental organization.

• The activity or event must be geared towards school age children and/or their families.

• Flyers must prominently display the sponsoring organization’s name.

• Flyers may not be defamatory, obscene, vulgar, or indecent.

• The distribution to students of campaign materials endorsing political candidates, parties or issues in upcoming local, state or federal

  elections will not be accepted.  

• No individual or entity may advertise or promote its interests by using the names or pictures of the

  School District, any District school or facility, staff members, or students except as authorized by and

  consistent with administrative procedures and approved by the Board.
