What a great evening of art and creativity at the MIS Drawing Night! Our rockets created dragon eyes made with oil pastels and their work was incredible! In the second grade economics unit in social studies, the students learned about producers and how many make goods in factories. Ms. Matt's college roommate is a Director at Triangle Brick in North Carolina and sent the class a video of their brick production. The class also logged onto a Google Meet with her and the plant manager to ask questions about the factory. She also sent squishy bricks for the class as a learning sourvenir. What an amazing learning experience!

We are very proud of our 3rd grade authors who completed their "Freaky Frog" books! Each student's book included at least four writing pieces including a pourquoi narrative, an informational piece about frogs, and essays about the unique adaptations of a particular frog they researched!

Some of our 4th graders visited our 3rd graders to share their "Choose Your Own Adventure" books that they wrote. 4th graders authored a story about an animal they researched that was trying to protect itself from a predator using two different defense mechanisms. The 3rd graders choose which defense mechanism to continue the story with to see what the ending would be!
