MIS kicked off our Kids Heart Challenge this morning with a wonderful assembly. Please visit www.heart.org/schools to get register. The learning, the fun, the prizes, and the wonderful impact on others is only a few clicks away.
Thank you Mr. Boss for being Mr. KHC.

We definitely have future paleontologists in the making! 2nd grade students have had so much fun this week learning more about fossils and fossilization, seeing real dinosaur fossils up close, and making their own fossils during the visit from T-Rexplorers. What a great way to wrap up their ELA module all about fossils! Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring this curricular experience.

Our first graders are visiting the StarLab today and tomorrow as enrichment to their ELA modules on the Sun, Moon, and Stars! Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring this curricular experience for our students.

Mokena School District will be hosting a blood drive on February 5th. You can make a donation appointment by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or by visiting RedCrossBlood.org.

See you on Monday!

Our 3rd graders loved seeing all of the frogs and toads they have been learning about as the "Frog Lady" returned for another visit before break! Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring this curriculum enrichment experience for our students!

Happy New Year!

We may be nestled in for Winter Break, but we have visions of gingerbread houses dancing in our heads!

The MES classroom holiday parties were full of fun, friendship, and new memories!

Winter break is here! ❄️❄️

The junior high hosted a fantastic holiday celebration for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders this morning! There were performances by the bands, orchestras, choir and poms as well as a sing-a-long. We even had a visit from a special someone from the North Pole!

Our principals wish you a wonderful holiday season! Who do you think has the best spirit? 🎄 🎁 ❄️

MIS students were full of holiday cheer this week!

Mrs. Martin's 8th grade US History classes created famous landmarks with a gingerbread-house twist! Can you guess what they are?

Second graders rose to the challenge as they had to work together to build the highest free standing shelf for the elf using only 25 popsicle sticks and a tub of playdough!

Our 8th graders are applying their learned math skills to solve holiday logic puzzles!

Congratulations to our 2024 DARE graduates. We are proud of you!

Congratulations to MJHS students Emeline H., Amelia H., and Zach J., for having their narrative writing esssays featured at the December Board of Education meeting. Their creativity and craft were apparent as they read their stories aloud. We are surely growing future authors in our classrooms!

Tonight is the night! Join us for the Mokena Junior High School Winter Concert at 7pm!

Mrs. Chorley and Mrs. Pierik enjoyed extra recess with Second Grade students for winning the 2024 Penny Wars benefitting Mokena Miracles.
