Congratulations to the 6th grade girls basketball team on their 2nd place finish at the DPVC Conference tournament!

Tonight's the night!

Mokena 159 would like to thank the veterans on our staff for their service and sacrifice. We appreciate you and are honored you’ve chosen Mokena 159 as a place to spread your impact! 🇺🇸

Third graders completed their ELA Module 1 Performance Task this week! Students synthesized their thinking and writing about their own personal reading challenges and possible strategies to overcome those challenges by creating an eye-catching bookmark listing the strategies. Students will keep their bookmarks in their books at school as a reminder. Great work, Stars!

4th grade students are completing their Module 1 ELA Performance Task in which they synthesized their learning about what inspires poets to write poetry by presenting their own original poems inspired by something meaningful to them, along with a speech, including supporting visuals, about what inspired their poem and where you can see evidence of this in their poem. Amazing work, Rockets!

MES students and staff are excited to honor our veterans tomorrow!

3rd graders carved pumpkins in Mrs. Esgar’s class last week! 🎃 The students measured, weighed, counted seeds, and made predictions. Then they carved a face and took it home.

5th grade students have been writing monologues based on a character's reaction to an event in their novel "Esperanza Rising." Over the next few days, they are performing their monologues with their group and have even created a program that includes the cast and Director's Note!

The Mokena Meteors had their first concert of the year tonight. Our musicians did a great job!
