MJHS is piloting an ELA curriculum called "Amplify Education". Teachers are testing to see if this innovative program will enhance our students' learning experience and provide valuable insights for future improvements to our curriculum!

Looking to clean out your closet?! Donate old sneakers to any of our Mokena 159 schools from November 6th-14th with your child's PE teacher. All donations from Project Kix will benefit our Wheelchair Basketball Fundraiser with LWSRA. Thank you so much for your generosity!

All three Mokena 159 schools are working together to celebrate and honor our Veterans! All money raised will go directly to Honor Flight Chicago.

MIS was visited by LWSRA during PE, where students rotated between 3 different adaptive games. Austin Spalla, son of MIS teacher, Mrs. Spalla has been selected for Team USA for the Parapan Games in Santiago, Chile for Track and Field later this month. Good luck!

Tonight at the girls basketball game, we'll be honoring the Mokena 159 teachers and staff. Thank you, Mokena Athletic Boosters, for organizing this! 🏀

Halloween fun yesterday!

Save the dates! The MIS Book Fair is next week, November 6th to November 10th!

Happy Halloween from the first grade teachers and the support team!

3rd graders carved pumpkins in Mrs. Esgar’s class last week! 🎃 The students measured, weighed, counted seeds, and made predictions. Then they carved a face and took it home.

5th grade students have been writing monologues based on a character's reaction to an event in their novel "Esperanza Rising." Over the next few days, they are performing their monologues with their group and have even created a program that includes the cast and Director's Note!

The Mokena Meteors had their first concert of the year tonight. Our musicians did a great job!

We're SO excited for the upcoming wheelchair basketball game on November 14!

Congratulations to the 6th grade Stellar Seekers who exhibited extraordinary kindness to their peers and staff!

Join us for the concert tonight to support our young musicians!

Kindergarteners are learning about "Weather Wonders" in their new ELA module. Thank you to the Manhattan Weather Channel for visiting our students today and sharing fun facts about different types of weather!

Save the date for the fall concert! 🍂🍁
