
At Wednesday's Board of Education Meeting, Mokena Junior High School students presented their projects from our Project Lead the Way exploratory STEM classes. We were very impressed with their design, coding, engineering, and public speaking skills.

6th graders in Dr. Albon's class have been working hard on their catapults! The 2nd annual catapult challenge is Friday!








Kindergarten students held a "Weather Expo" with their second grade buddies this week. Kindergarteners presented the writing they accomplished throughout their Weather Wonders ELA module. We are "snow' proud of their hard work!





Rocket Reward Winners were treated to some fun in the hamster balls at MIS! Great job to the student winners for your efforts in demonstrating our school wide expectations!

Last week, the MJH Orchestra got to meet and rehearse their concert music with Mrs. Stacy Williams-Jackson, the Orchestra director from Lincoln-Way Central and West!

This morning the first grade team had breakfast with the winners from the Fall Swing fundraiser. The breakfast was provided by the PTA. Thank you, PTA!











MES Student Council boxed up all kinds of supplies for foster kids & teens in Will and Grundy County. They were able to pack a van full of socks, games, coloring books, art supplies, lotions, chapsticks, diapers & more! Thank you to our amazing MES families for their generosity!


6th grade students are learning to analyze dialogue and narration to interpret characters and determine an author's point of view. Today, they used this learning to "act out" a section of their text as a way to deepen their awareness of how dialogue and narration work together.



2nd graders in Ms. Matt's and Ms. Lagunas' classes had their 50 States Celebration last week! Students dressed up as their chosen state, conducted research to create posters, and took visitors through a variety of activities!











Wednesday is the winter concert at MIS! We can't wait! 🎄


Today MIS students participated in a live author presentation through Storyvoice. They heard from author Gordan Korman and heard an excerpt from his newest book is Mixed Up. Thank you to MIS librarian, Ms. Spasojevic, for organizing this for our students!
